As the new school year commences, we, the Parents of Pinnacle (POP), are thrilled to welcome you back to campus! Just like the PTA/PTO's from your elementary and middle school days, POP is here to make each student's experience at PHS truly exceptional. We believe that together, we can create a vibrant and supportive community that fosters growth and success for all our students.
Who Does POP Help?
High school offers a diverse range of programs, from sports teams like football, baseball, softball, and basketball to clubs like drama, chorus, and band. Each of these programs contributes to the rich tapestry of experiences available to our students. POP plays a crucial role in supporting not only the entire school but also the individual booster clubs on campus. Your involvement and support are vital to ensure that these clubs can operate effectively and provide enriching opportunities to our students.
Why is POP Membership Important?
When your child joins a sports team or club, you may pay dues or fees specific to that particular program. However, it's essential to understand that these payments stay within the confines of the team or club. POP, on the other hand, supports the school as a whole and serves as the backbone for the individual booster clubs, granting them the necessary 501(C)3 status and insurance required by PVUSD. Without POP, these clubs simply wouldn't be allowed to function.
How Does POP Operate?
POP takes on a central role in ensuring the success of our school community. We hold the 501(C)3 status necessary for the booster clubs to operate, handle tax preparation, and oversee the bank accounts. Additionally, we organize and sponsor various programs, including Teacher & Staff Appreciation events, Project Grad to keep our graduates safe on their special night, and POP scholarships. Collaboration with the Principal and school administration further allows us to address any pressing projects throughout the school year.
Our Fundraising Goal for 2023-24
To maintain our invaluable support for Pinnacle High School, POP aims to raise $60,000 this year. We recognize that this goal can only be achieved with the generous contributions of our Pinnacle families. Your involvement is crucial in funding all our programs and initiatives that benefit the entire student body.
How Can You Help?
Supporting POP is easier than ever, and there are several ways you can participate:
Become a POP Member: Join POP for only $25 and know that you are directly supporting every student at Pinnacle. Your membership is a powerful way to show your commitment to our school community.
Make a Tax-Deductible Donation: If you prefer, you can make a tax-deductible contribution to the POP general fund or support a specific event directly.
Donate Goods: Participate in our Fall and Spring used goods drives by dropping off items that can be repurposed to benefit Goodwill of Arizona.
Volunteer Your Time: Sign up to help with an event and be part of the magic that brings our programs to life.
Participate in the Annual Online Fundraiser: Support POP by placing donation "bids" on one or more valuable products and services offered such as vacations, gift cards, baskets, and much more in our Annual Online Fundraiser.
